Interior Door, Trim & Baseboard Painting San Diego

Interior painting by PB Painting in Poway, San Diego County

Scuffed baseboards, yellowed doors and chipped trim make a home look older than it is. PB Painting refinishes interior doors, baseboards, crown molding, window casings and stair railings with a smooth, hard enamel that resists scuffs and wipes clean.

Trim and Doors That Look Freshly Built

Interior trim is close to eye level and touched every day, so it needs more prep and a tougher finish than walls. We clean off grime and hand oils, fill nail holes and dents, caulk gaps where trim meets the wall, and sand the old finish so the new enamel bonds. The result is a smooth, even finish with crisp lines between trim and walls.

The Best Paint for Trim and Doors

Interior trim needs an enamel that levels out, cures hard and does not stay sticky. We often use Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel or Dunn-Edwards Aristoshield, both water-based enamels that offer much of the hardness of old oil paints without the yellowing. Semi-gloss and satin are the most popular sheens. See our paints we use page for details.

White Trim, Colored Trim and Two-Tone Doors

Bright white trim is a classic, but painted doors and darker trim are increasingly popular for a modern look. Two-tone doors, with a different color on each side to match each room, are another option. We offer up to 10 free samples through our color consultation.
